Weaving products worth keeping a lifetime

We are devoted to crafting distinctive and impactful woven accessories, driven by an unwavering commitment to tradition, innovation, and sustainability at our very core.

Woven Memories is a Manchester-based textile studio with in-house production, specialised in personalised handwoven fashion and homeware accessories. To stick to our core values, we give you a special opportunity to get involved in the design process. We use coding to turn your messages into patterns. This hands-on approach strengthens the connection between you and your creation.

TRADITION

Honouring the skill and know-how of an ancient textile technique that's been around for 11,000 years.

INNOVATION

Using the link between computer science and weaving, we're finding new ways to design patterns and push forward progress in creating woven textiles.

SUSTAINABILITY

We're focused on minimising waste every step of the way. Our five steps include: creating on-demand, recycling yarn, partnering with local suppliers, repurposing studio materials, and donating leftover yarn to textile artists.

Please note that all orders will be processed on December 29th. Wishing you a delightful holiday season!

HOW IT WORKS

We've introduced digital coding to transform your text into a unique pattern. Using our user-friendly online interface, you become the co-designer. Simply share your memories, stories, events, poems, or lyrics, and witness as they intricately weave into a personalised pattern on the cushion or scarf. After you design it, we handweave it, and ship it right to your door. Now, you can either wear the scarf or embrace the cushion, keeping the essence of cherished memories close at hand. It's not just a perfect way to celebrate special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries; it's also a beautiful tribute to departed loved ones.

MEET THE DESIGNER

Woven Memories studio is run by Gina Nadal, a Catalan designer, based in Manchester since 2015. Gina’s connection to weaving can be traced back to 2010 during her BA in Arts & Design, in Barcelona. Through her MA and PhD at Manchester School of Art, she specialised in the historical and technical connections between weaving and digital coding. After fulfilling her academic studies, she embraced the entrepreneurial journey and started Woven Memories in 2022.

Feel free to ask Gina anything about her practice; she's always eager to share insights, whether it's delving into the academic nuances or discussing a more hands-on approach. When she's not weaving, you might find her out for a run, reading about textile history, taking care of her plants, or just enjoying some time by the sea.

Transparency is at the heart of our relationship with customers, providing a comprehensive view of our materials and production origins (when not produced in our studio). While our aim is to prioritise local sourcing, occasional considerations for quality may lead to extending the supply chain. It's worth noting that all our primary suppliers are based in the UK, underscoring our commitment to supporting local businesses and minimising our environmental footprint.
